MY REVIEW:
Lady Carliss and the Waters of Moorue is a fast moving story that will keep most readers eagerly turning the pages. An excellent allegory, the book’s primary characters exemplify strong Christian qualities. Filled with plenty of action and adventure, the novel cleverly illustrates the age old battle between light and darkness – good and evil. A prominent lesson demonstrated is the dangers of escapism, whether through alcohol, drugs, music, video games, etc. An extensive study guide is included at the end of the book. Lady Carliss and the Waters of Moorue would be an excellent medium for young teens to learn and discuss valuable Christian principles.

Debbie and Scott now live on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. When Debbie is not writing and Scott has time off they love to indulge their passion for theme parks.
ABOUT THE BOOK :
Cindy’s church is getting ready to celebrate Easter, and Jeremiah’s Temple is preparing for Passover when Cindy literally stumbles over the body of an unknown man lying dead in the sanctuary. The church was locked, and a bloody cross necklace on the floor seems to be the only clue. The killer is likely a member of the congregation, but there are hints that similar deaths have happened in the past. Are Cindy and Jeremiah dealing with a serial killer? They have to unravel the clues before Easter Sunday arrives and more people die.
Cindy and Jeremiah come from two different worlds, even though they work right next door to each other. Cindy is a strong Christian who lives a normal but somewhat dull life, working as a church secretary. Jeremiah is a Reformed rabbi with a mysterious past full of danger and excitement. But one eventful Easter/Passover week, the two find themselves working together to solve a murder and stop a serial killer from striking again. Solving the mystery should put an end to their alliance, but the church secretary and the rabbi quickly find themselves enmeshed in another mystery. Soon the two form a friendly alliance and friendship, exploring personal history and faith and growing closer with each passing adventure. Despite their differences Cindy and Jeremiah find a lot of common ground.

MY REVIEW:
A serial killer is on the loose during the week leading up to Easter and Passover and church secretary Cindy has found herself right in the middle of all the action. When Jeremiah, the rabbi from the synagogue next to her church runs to her aid after hearing her screams, the unlikely pair find themselves working together to find the killer before too many people die. Although sparks fly between Cindy and Jeremiah, they are too busy playing detective to see where a romance might lead.
There are probably too many dead bodies for The Lord Is My Shepherd to qualify as a cozy mystery; nevertheless it is still a fun book that is filled with plenty of action and suspense and liberally sprinkled with humor. The reader will also learn quite a bit about Jewish customs, especially concerning Passover as Cindy and Jeremiah interact.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Lord Is My Shepherd and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
