LaHaye has written more than 60 non-fiction books on a wide range of subjects such as: family life, temperaments, sexual adjustment, Bible prophecy, the will of God, Jesus Christ, and secular humanism with over 14 million in print, some of which have been translated into thirty-two foreign languages. His writings are best noted for their easy-to-understand and scripturally based application of biblical principles that assist in facing and handling the challenges of life.
Craig Parshall serves as senior vice-president and general counsel for the National Religious Broadcasters and has authored seven bestselling suspense novels.
Craig Parshall is a highly successful lawyer from the Washington, DC, area and the author of the popular Chambers of Justice series of legal thrillers. With his wife, Janet, he has also authored the historical novel Crown of Fire, which takes place in the 1500s against the turbulent backdrop of the Scottish Reformation.
ABOUT THE BOOK
In the third book of The End series, Joshua Jordan remains in Israel during his self-imposed ‘exile’ out of the reach of U.S. authorities who have trumped-up false criminal treason charges against him. His wife, Abigail, continues to lead the Roundtable to prove the innocence of her husband. Following the nuclear attack by Russia, Israel is cleaning up the bodies of dead enemy soldiers for 7 months and setting out on its 7 year plan—both per the prophecies in Ezekiel. As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary—including the unthinkable—Israel’s leadership is tempted to sign a ‘peace’ proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin. After he discusses this plan with Pastor Peter Campbell, Joshua is convinced Coliquin may well be the prophesied Anti-Christ and that his peace plan is a trap to destroy Israel. Are the recurring dreams Joshua has had about the coming rapture from God. And is the end sooner than anyone expects?

MY REVIEW:
“Escaping the Cauldron” chronicles Kristine’s eight years in the occult as a “Christian” witch, a medium, and a ghost hunter. Although she believes she was saved at a young age, Kristine had always been fascinated by the dark side. When found no answers to her marriage and financial problems through her church, she began to look for solutions elsewhere and soon found herself an actively practicing witch while attempting to continue her church life also.
This book not only tells Kristine’s personal story but is filled with a wealth of stark facts about the occult. Each chapters is filled with scripture as Kristine makes it a point to emphasize what the Bible has to say about each topic. At the end of each chapter is a concluding verse as well as several questions to discuss and/or consider. Later chapters are Kristine’s attempt to guide other Christians on various contemporary controversial topics such as “Harry Potter”, “Twilight”, Yoga, etc.
I applaud McGuire’s strong use of scripture to back up her stance on the danger of witchcraft and dabbling in other occult practices. I also liked the fact that she included an entire chapter with the gospel message to give readers the opportunity to receive the only true answer to their problems. While I may not agree 100% with her opinion on some of the more controversial topics, it is not a real issue. After all, the topics would not be controversial if everyone agreed and I realize that I might tend to take a more rigid stance on these topics because of my own observations. I was a bit surprised that the subject of current music was not addressed but then, that might take another book to cover.
All in all, “Escaping the Cauldron” is an honest and informative tool that should open readers’ eyes to the subtle ways the occult has infiltrated our society. I for one never knew about the widespread numbers of people who consider themselves Christian witches.

MY REVIEW:
Always a fan of novels by Denise Hunter, I am particularly happy when one of them is a western romance. You see, I’ve always had a thing for cowboys. I actually married about as close as you can get to one in west Tennessee – a farmer. He does sometimes wear a cowboy hat but instead of a horse, he drove a John Deere.
I patiently waited until I had read all the books in front of “The Trouble With Cowboys” that I had committed to review, difficult as that was but my patience was rewarded. I can truthfully say that the book did not disappoint. With familiar characters from the earlier Big Sky Romance novels and the small town setting of Moose Creek, Montana, I immediately felt right at home. I was quickly drawn into the story of Annie and Dylan and couldn’t wait to find out how their story would end yet at the same time hated to see the last page. The book has just the right blend of drama, action, humor, and romantic tension and some surprises along the way don’t hurt a thing. I loved the give and take between the characters and their honesty. I also enjoyed seeing how things were going with Shay and Travis and Abigail and Wade. Plus the cowboys!
One thing that stood out to me in “The Trouble With Cowboys” is how easily something spoken often enough by a parent can influence the life of a child for many years to come. Both Annie and her younger sister Sierra had difficulty with relationships after watching their mother’s repeated failed marriages, especially when they could remember her often quoted line “The trouble with cowboys is that they always leave.” “The Trouble With Cowboys” is a must read book for fans of western romance that is full of cowboys, romance and lessons for life with a message of faith. Don’t miss it.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Only one pair of boots—and the cowboy wearing them—can get Annie out of the mess she’s in.
Annie Wilkerson is Moose Creek’s premiere horse trainer and equine columnist for Montana Living. Money is tight as she tries to put her kid-sister through college and provide for her young nephew. When Annie’s column is cancelled, she’s given first shot at a new lovelorn column—and she can’t afford to turn it down. Only problem is . . . Annie’s never been in love.
Always resourceful, she reluctantly strikes a deal with the town’s smooth-talking ladies’ man Dylan Taylor: She’ll work with his ailing horse, Braveheart, if he’ll help her answer the reader letters.
Working closely with Dylan is harder than Annie imagined, and she quickly realizes she may have misjudged him. But her unwavering conviction that cowboys are nothing but trouble has kept her heart safe for years. And she can’t risk getting hurt now.
The more Annie tries to control things, the more they fall apart. Her feelings are spinning out of control, and her sister’s antics are making life increasingly more difficult. Annie knows she needs to turn the reins over to God, but surrender has never come easily.
When Dylan reveals his feelings for her, Annie doesn’t know what to trust—her head or her heart. The trouble with this cowboy is that he might just be exactly what she needs.

Annie WaldABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Along with being the author of Walk With Me (forthcoming September 2012, River North/Moody), my fiction has been published in numerous journals including Image, The Southern Review and The North American Review and included in the anthology series, Not Safe But Good, edited by Bret Lott and published by Thomas Nelson. I’m also the author of a young adult novel, The Counterfeit Collection (Tyndale) and I’ve written feature articles for many publications such as Guideposts, Leadership, and Partnership.
Before writing full-time, I worked in book publishing as an acquisitions editor and then as Editor-in-Chief at Princeton University Press. Since 2000, I’ve lived in Morocco where my husband is the pastor of Rabat International Church. We have two married daughters and four delightful grandchildren.
A Word from Annie:
If you still want to know more about me, you may be interested to learn:
On the Myers-Briggs scale, I’m not an I for introvert. I’m an H for hermit.
But I’ve been known to say, “We’re having a small gathering; only 10 people.”
I love Easter sunrise services in cemeteries.
I live on the west coast — of Africa.
My favorite Moroccan meal: Zahara’s beef couscous with raisin sauce, and tchouchouka.
J’adore le francais.
I once told God I’d marry anyone except the man who became my husband.
I prefer to make things up rather than do research, although I have been described as an ‘infomaniac’.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Peter and Celeste choose to travel as one on the lifelong journey to the King’s City . They are blissfully in love and bound to each other by the Cords of Commitment.
Shortly after visiting the Moon of Honey they discover that the journey proves much more difficult than they expected. When they find themselves laboring through the Swamp of Selfishness, crossing the dismal Plains of Distance, and nearly becoming separated by the River of Unfaithfulness, their love for each other and for the King is challenged. They must choose whether to continue on together, not knowing if they can be warmed again by the Kindling of Affection, or visit the Valley of Cut Cords to journey alone once more.
