Dangerous Obsession by Jessica R. Patch

MY REVIEW:

Jessica R. Patch delivers another high-intensity suspense with her latest Love Inspired novel Dangerous Obsession. With danger and surprises galore, it gripped my imagination and held it captive until the very end. I pretty much read the entire book in one sitting.

The author’s character development is superb and like many other of her readers I was anxious to see Wilder featured in his own story. I was not disappointed! Wilder lived up to my expectations and was definitely the perfect hero. There was nothing not to like about Dangerous Obsession. What more could I ask besides a fast-moving plot, likeable characters, a well developed mystery that kept me guessing, a strong Christian theme, and a romance thrown in for good measure.

I have previously read and enjoyed several of Patch’s novels and personally believe that each one is even better than the last. Dangerous Obsession certainly held true to form and to me is the best one yet. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her readers in the future.

Bound by Duty by Valerie Hansen

MY REVIEW:

“Bound by Duty” is another exceptional Love Inspired Suspense novel that kept me turning the pages well into the night. Not only did it have a fast-paced, suspense filled, and riveting plot but who could resist the combination of a cute little boy and a brave military K-9 like Rottweiler Star?

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and its characters. I loved how dedicated to his job and his dog Linc was yet was open-minded enough to eventually see the truth about Zoe despite suspicions against her.  Plenty of action, danger, and romance to satisfy readers like me. I know I want to read more by this author.

Primary Suspect by Laura Scott

MY REVIEW:

“Primary Suspect” is fast-paced suspense at its best. It quickly becomes obvious that someone wants Mitch Callahan dead and will stop at nothing to achieve that purpose. ER nurse Dana Petrie is drawn into the danger when she attempts to help after an attempt on his life at the hospital where she works.

This well-written novel is a page-turner with plenty of action, danger, suspense, and even romance which should keep most readers on the edge of their chairs. I read it in one sitting and plan to locate the other Callahan Confidential books in this series.

I am consistently amazed at the quality of most books in the Love Inspired Suspense line and will recommend them to anyone who loves this genre.

Credible Threat by Heather Woodhaven

MY REVIEW:

Another page-turner from Heather Woodhaven, “Credible Threat” is one I couldn’t put down until I reached its end. It seemed as if each page was brimming with action and suspense and the plot moved from one dangerous or threatening situation to another. I HAD to know how everything would turn out before I could rest for the night.

Accountant Rebecca Linn’s life has been threatened and authorities are not sure if it is because she is the granddaughter of a federal judge or if she has stumbled across something in her job that someone is desperate to keep hidden. Because of her grandfather’s position, Rebecca is assigned a Deputy US Marshall for protection and to hopefully discover what is going on. As most romance readers know instinctively, Rebecca and Kurt will find themselves strongly attracted to each other but this time her family says “No”.

I can tell you that the plot moves at warp speed, the characters are strong and realistic, there is plenty of action, danger, and suspense with a nice dose of romance, and a few surprises along the way. Anything else you want to know, you will have to get a copy for yourself and learn all the answers the same way I did. I don’t think you will regret it.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

NO SAFE PLACE

Someone wants accountant Rebecca Linn—the granddaughter of a federal judge—dead, and it’s Deputy US Marshal Kurt Brock’s duty to figure out why and protect her. But her powerful family insists Kurt keep his relationship with Rebecca strictly professional…no matter how much he’s drawn to the feisty, fast-thinking beauty. Rebecca is sure the suspicious evidence she uncovered in her latest auditing case has put a target on her back. But staying ahead of those out to silence her is bringing her dangerously close to Kurt—and putting both their careers on the line. With the attacker closing in, can Rebecca and Kurt survive long enough to reveal the would-be killer’s secrets?

Heather Woodhaven earned her pilot’s license, rode a hot air balloon over the safari lands of Kenya, assisted an engineer with a medical laser in a Haitian mission, parasailed over Caribbean seas, lived through an accidental detour onto a black diamond ski trail in the Aspens and snorkeled among sting rays before becoming a mother of three and wife of one. Now Heather spends her days celebrating laughter, adding to her impressive list of embarrassing moments, and raising a family of aspiring comedians who perform nightly at her table. She channels her love for adventure into writing characters who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances–whether running for their lives or battling the insanities of life.

Treacherous Trails by Dana Mentink

MY REVIEW:

“Treacherous Trails” is one of those nonstop page turners that you just don’t want to put down. It seemed pretty obvious from the very beginning who the guilty person was but the author certainly kept me on my toes wondering what would happen next.

I loved the interaction between the characters, especially Owen and Ella and it was fun learning about their lifelong friendship as well as other background pertinent to their story. The loyalty and support of the Thorn family for each other and those they cared about was touching and inspiring.

The action filled plot is filled with lots of danger and suspense as well as multiple twists and surprises.  A little romance in the midst of life-threatening situations didn’t hurt either. The ending was perfect in my opinion. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!

The Baby Assignment by Christy Barritt

MY REVIEW:

“The Baby Assignment” is a fast paced mystery/suspense that kept me engaged to the very end. When a hero and heroine who were previously engaged agree to help protect a baby left at the Houston FBI office, their lives become connected again. Despite danger at every turn and a mystery to solve, Tanner and Macy manage to rediscover the spark between them but is it strong enough to keep them together this time?

I enjoyed this book with multiple plot twists and surprises sprinkled throughout. Dialogue was excellent and helped keep it interesting. Loved how quickly Macy became attached to the baby and how protective Tanner was of them both. A major plus was that I didn’t have it all figured out before I was halfway through the story.

As always, this novel by Christy Barritt was entertaining yet contained a faith-filled thread that was encouraging to this reader. I recommend “The Baby Assignment” to anyone who enjoys a short but action filled suspenseful read.
