Try Aldi to Save Grocery Dollars
One store I shop frequently for everyday pantry items is Aldi. If you have an Aldi near you and you haven’t checked it out, now is the time! I live in a rural area so the 2 closest Aldi stores are each nearly 20 miles away so if I am in the area, I always make it a point to stop and stock up on basic items.
The first bargain I noticed today was a dozen large eggs for $0.49 each. Other good deals were:
- 1 pound butter quarters for $1.49 – both salted and unsalted
- 8 ounce cream cheese for $0.79
- Premium brown sugar spiral sliced ham for $1.99 per pound OR
- Appleton half spiral sliced honey ham for $1.49 per pound
- 5 pounds flour for $1.59
- Most canned vegetables are $0.49 per can
- Tomato sauce for $0.25 per can
- Fudge brownie mix for $1.29 per box (makes a 9 X 13 ” pan)
I can find many of the food items I consider necessary to keep in my pantry at Aldi. They have a large selection of canned food, breads, cereal, cookies and candy, refrigerated and dairy products, produce, frozen products and fresh meats. In addition, every week they also have special purchases. Most of the food items will be store brand but I have never bought anything that wasn’t good.
You can find out if there is a store near you or sign up for the Aldi email list to be notified of the new specials at http://aldi.us/index_ENU_HTML.htm
