MY REVIEW:
What would you do if your relaxing kayak ride down the river was interrupted by a woman’s scream and gunshots? Personally, I’m such a chicken that I would probably turn that thing around and head back the way I came from. Of course Tanner Brody is too dedicated a police officer to do that, even if his new job hasn’t yet officially begun. That decision quickly puts his life on the line as he finds a young woman who doesn’t remember anything but it is evident that someone wants her dead. His protective instincts kick into high gear and one page-turning, breath-holding, suspense-filled story ensues.
I have read few novels with more twists and turns and secrets than Fatal Recall, yet somehow the author managed to pack it all within the covers of a short Love Inspired Suspense novel. Characters are well developed, especially Tanner who is the perfect hero with his strong sense of duty. I enjoyed every minute of this book from the danger and (of course) romance to the characters’ need to depend on God to see them through.
I would strongly recommend Fatal Recall to anyone who enjoys superbly crafted suspense and also appreciate a novel that can be finished in a relatively short time. Once again Carol Post has made me a happy reader.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Amnesia stole her memory—
a killer wants her dead
When Paige Tatem loses her memory, she knows just two things: she has a target on her back, and police officer Tanner Brody is the only man she trusts to protect her. As they piece together her past, Tanner wonders what lies hidden in Paige’s mind. And as the truth begins to emerge, it becomes clear that a ruthless enemy wants certain secrets to stay buried.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
From medical secretary to court reporter to property manager to owner of a special events decorating company, Carol’s resume reads like someone who doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. But her one constant has always been her love for writing. She lives in Central Florida with her husband and enjoys sailing, hiking and camping. Her daughters and grandson live too far away for her liking, so she pours all that nurturing into caring for three fat cats and one spoiled dog.

MY REVIEW:
I discovered Lisa Carter’s books several years ago and have since made it a point not to miss her latest. I was blessed to have the opportunity to read and review a copy of A Vast and Gracious Tide for JustRead Publicity but would have definitely purchased a copy otherwise.
The setting and plot may be different than the previous novels but I can guarantee that the suspense and romance are still top notch with plenty of twists and surprises in store for the reader. In this wonderful story both McKenna and Caden are dealing with the loss in their lives in different ways. A chance meeting brings the pair together in ways that will change their own lives and that of others forever.
At times heartbreaking, the story eventually leads to hope and restoration for its characters. I liked how the author managed to convey the despair and hopelessness often experienced by our veterans of war. We lose too many of these young men to suicide yet so many are unaware of their desperation. I also loved how the words of the much loved song Here is Love were woven throughout this powerful story of the power of Christ to restore broken lives.

MY REVIEW:
Blind Betrayal is another fast-paced suspense novel by Nancy Mehl that held me in its grip until the very last page. Action and danger fill the pages as a team from the U.S. Marshals Office do everything they can to escort a vital witness to Washington D.C. to testify. The story starts with a bang when a bomb attack at headquarters sends the team off on a mission that is not exactly as planned. Problems continue to plague them and they begin to wonder if any of them will survive. It was interesting to observe the interaction between Casey and E.J. as they were forced to work together despite their past connection. It soon became obvious that there were some misunderstandings that needed to be overcome if they were to successfully complete their assignment.
I enjoyed this suspense filled tale with realistic characters and a plot that could easily be drawn from current news. Plenty of unexpected twists and surprises kept me on the edge of my seat and I did not want to close the cover until I reached the end. I can always count on Nancy Mehl to provide a great read with just the right blend of faith, suspense, and romance.

MY REVIEW:
I’ll admit that I was a tad disappointed to find that The Love Letter is yet another book that switches back and forth between the past and present. The split-time format seems to be a very popular one these days and I have encountered quite a few of the books among my review novels. Nevertheless, who better than Rachel Hauck to take both stories and pull them together in a way that God’s hand is evident throughout – and she manages to throw in a holy surprise or two along the way. Even when it seems that a monkey wrench has been thrown in to mess everything up, the plans the Lord has in store are fulfilled.
I enjoyed reading this story of Chloe Daschle, and actress and Jesse Gates, the scriptwriter for the film i which Chloe is to star. With the screenplay loosely based on a letter written by one of Jesse’s ancestors, the story switches back and forth between Chloe and Jesse’s experiences to the story of Hamilton Lightfoot and Esther Longfellow during the American Revolution. Each story could easily stand on its own but the author has woven them together into a romantic tale that reaches across history.
Lovers of historical fiction should love this book for the personal look at life during the Revolutionary War and any fan of Rachel Hauck will definitely appreciate her unique approach to writing that has endeared her to me for a number of years and books.
I voluntarily reviewed copies of this book provided by Amazon Vine and the author. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Dress comes a story of long-lost love and its redemption in future generations.
Romance has never been actress Chloe Daschle’s forte—in life or on screen. But everyone knows who to call for a convincing death scene . . . and it might be killing her career.
When Chloe is given a peek at the script for an epic love story, she decides to take her destiny into her own hands and request an audition for the lead female role, Esther Kingsley. The compelling tale, inspired by family lore and a one-page letter from the colonial ancestor of scriptwriter Jesse Gates, just might break her out of this career-crippling rut. Jesse would rather write about romance than live through it after his past relationship ended in disaster. But once on-set together, the chemistry between Jesse and his leading lady is hard to deny.
Centuries earlier, in the heart of the Revolutionary War, Hamilton Lightfoot and Esther Longfellow wrote their saga off the silver screen. Esther’s Loyalist father opposes any relationship with Hamilton, but Esther must face her beloved father’s disapproval and the dangers of war in order to convince Hamilton of their future together. Hamilton has loved Esther for years, and on the eve of battle pens the love letter she’s always wanted—something straight from the heart.
Set in stunning upcountry South Carolina, The Love Letter is a beautifully-crafted story of the courage it takes to face down fear and chase after love, even in the darkest of times. And just maybe, all these generations later, love can come home in a way not even Hollywood could imagine.

MY REVIEW:
Jessica R. Patch delivers another high-intensity suspense with her latest Love Inspired novel Dangerous Obsession. With danger and surprises galore, it gripped my imagination and held it captive until the very end. I pretty much read the entire book in one sitting.
The author’s character development is superb and like many other of her readers I was anxious to see Wilder featured in his own story. I was not disappointed! Wilder lived up to my expectations and was definitely the perfect hero. There was nothing not to like about Dangerous Obsession. What more could I ask besides a fast-moving plot, likeable characters, a well developed mystery that kept me guessing, a strong Christian theme, and a romance thrown in for good measure.
I have previously read and enjoyed several of Patch’s novels and personally believe that each one is even better than the last. Dangerous Obsession certainly held true to form and to me is the best one yet. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her readers in the future.

MY REVIEW:
“Bound by Duty” is another exceptional Love Inspired Suspense novel that kept me turning the pages well into the night. Not only did it have a fast-paced, suspense filled, and riveting plot but who could resist the combination of a cute little boy and a brave military K-9 like Rottweiler Star?
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and its characters. I loved how dedicated to his job and his dog Linc was yet was open-minded enough to eventually see the truth about Zoe despite suspicions against her. Plenty of action, danger, and romance to satisfy readers like me. I know I want to read more by this author.
