The Chase by Lisa Harris
MY REVIEW:
Book 2 in The U.S. Marshalls series, The Chase takes up a few months after the previous book ends. Madison James is ready to get back to work after her recovery from a serious injury. Her boss would like for her to ease her way back into action but when a bank robbery takes place on her first day back on the job, Madison convinces her partner Jonas to allow her to work the case with him.
As Madison and Jonas investigate the latest of a series of crimes, it soon becomes apparent that the perpetrators seem to be playing a dangerous game. Each clue brings more questions and the team finds themselves working against time as they attempt to stop the suspects before someone else gets hurt or dies.
The Chase is an action filled tale with danger around every corner. The suspense laced with a developing romance keeps the characters on their toes as they learn they will have to depend on each other and the Lord to survive. Although Lucas makes his feelings for Madison quite clear, Madison is fearful of the pain that caring for another man could bring her.
As is often the case with series, the reader is left with a story that is not entirely resolved so they should be prepared to wait for the next book in the series to learn what happens to Lucas and Madison. I am looking forward to it myself.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Failure isn’t an option
US Marshal Madison James may not be sure who shot her three months ago, but she does know one thing–it’s time to get back out into the field. When her partner, Jonas Quinn, receives a message that a federal warrant just came in on a man connected to a string of bank robberies, Madison jumps at the chance to get back to work. What she and Jonas find is a bank robbery gone wrong–and things are about to get complicated.
For these bank robbers, it’s never been about the money. It’s about taking risks and adrenaline rushes, and getting caught is not part of the game. When the suspects escape, Madison and Jonas must hunt them down and bring them to justice before someone else–someone close to them–gets hurt . . . or worse.
