MY REVIEW:
Oh, how I loved The Imposters series! The unique and often quirky characters were not at all who they seemed to be on the surface. An Honorable Deception concludes the series and includes all the beloved characters from the previous two books. As the narrative progresses, readers will find that the Imposters continue to add new members to its ranks.
In this installment, Yates takes front stage as he takes on a new case. Not only does he need to help Lady Alethia solve her case but he and the Imposters also become her protectors as her very life is endangered. An old family friend, Lady Lavinia (who Yates has always loved) joins the group and has skills that make her quite adept at helping with certain tasks the others dislike. Her enthusiasm is catching and the camaraderie of the group is fun. But it is not all fun and games because a murderer wants Alethia dead and will do most anything to protect his dark secrets. In the midst of all the danger and drama, there also seems to be a love triangle between Yates, Alethia, and Lavinia. None of them are certain where they stand and the misunderstandings kept things interesting.
Once again, I was reminded of why Roseanna M. White has become one of my top favorite authors. I pretty much jump on any book she publishes.
