Well….. my father made my wedding dress (yup!), and a couple of weeks before the wedding, for whatever silly reason I was mad at my intended, and came home, woke my parents up, and told them the wedding was off. My mom, in all her practicality, asked why I waited so close to the wedding to do this, since the invitations were already sent. My dad, who was working daily on my dress, said “Oh well… I will still finish it anyway, and I try to sell it!” I think the next day the wedding was back on, but I will always remember me sitting on the side of their bed and my dad talking about finishing my dress to sell it! :-)
After our wedding, we came to work on the house we were building together and ate pb&j sandwiches on the floor.
