Welcome to the Blog + Review Blitz for Range by Ronie Kendig, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!
MY REVIEW:
I feel inadequate to review this novel. Range is one of those stories that is incredibly difficult to read because it truthfully exposes just how evil some people in power can be. Several characters have experienced things most of us cannot even imagine yet they have somehow never lost hope and continue to attempt to help others in similar circumstances.
Kasra is one of those characters. She has endured mistreatment and degradation to her own body as well as earning the disreputable reputation of the madame who sells young women and children for the sex trade. But Kasra has worked quietly behind the scenes to help as many of them escape as possible. She has not always been successful but her heart yearns to see them all free. Range is one of the men sent to Afghanistan to capture Kasra in order to expose the leaders of the trafficking business. His only focus is to see her punished. Forced to flee together when things go horribly wrong, Range and Kasra learn more about each other than expected and each of them is surprised at what they find.
Range is an exciting tale filled with action and danger. Readers will learn more than they probably want to about the horrors of human trafficking but the author handles the subject carefully and without unneeded information. I found Kazra to be an extraordinary woman and was encouraged by how Range was eventually able to see the real person inside her.
Although Range can be difficult to read at times, I found it to be a story full of hope. I encourage other readers to give it a chance.

He’s back and he’s out for blood
Fed up with living in the shadow of his brothers, Range Metcalfe struck out to carve a name for himself—one written in the blood of many a terrorist. Now, he’s targeting the notorious Madam of Kandahar, who has trafficked children and women. Finally given the green light, he captures her and quickly finds himself entrenched up in a deadly encounter that forces him into the Afghan wilderness—with the madam.
Ten years trapped in human trafficking and five of those spent overseeing a compound, Kasra Jazani has little left of her soul. No longer able to live with herself, she takes matters into her own hands and coordinates an escape, a massive coup against the man who has kept her and so many others captive. They flee into the night—right into the fierce and capable hands of American operators, who ruin everything and put lives at risk. Livid, she knows death is coming for them, because she also holds a very dangerous, very powerful secret: the name of the man at the top of the trafficking ring. Now that monster wants her—and her American protector—dead.
