MY REVIEW:
Missing Max is an emotionally charged story that documents how each member of the Madison family is affected by the kidnapping of baby Max. Jane, Kyle, and Melanie each retreat into their own private world where they fluctuate between blaming themselves and each other for Max’s disappearance. Jane and Kyle’s marriage suffers as they wallow separately in their grief. Once sweet and loving, Melanie becomes an unmanageable teen who surprises her parents with an off-the-wall solution that also affects people outside their immediate family.
When Jane begins to receive strange phone calls followed by several incidents of harassment, they suspect it could be the kidnapper. As the narrative progresses, the level of harassment and potential danger to the entire family rises until it reaches a climax near the end.
Well written with believable characters, Missing Max is a page turner that will leave the reader wanting more.
