Janette Oke’s warm writing style has won the hearts of millions of readers. She has received numerous awards, including the Gold Medallion Award, The Christy Award of Excellence, the 1992 President’s Award for her significant contribution to the category of Christian fiction from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, and in 1999 the Life Impact Award from the Christian Booksellers Association International. Beloved worldwide, her books have been translated into fourteen languages.<\/p>\n

MY REVIEW:<\/h3>\n

I will admit that I was not very excited when I received my copy of\u00a0 The Centurion’s Wife<\/a> and discovered it was historical biblical fiction. That has never been my favorite genre of Christian fiction, possibly because I have not gotten hold of many really good novels of the kind and have generally avoided them. To my surprise, The Centurion’s Wife<\/a> grabbed my attention and kept it until the end.<\/p>\n

The pages of\u00a0 The Centurion’s Wife<\/a> took me back to the days immediately following Christ’s death and resurrection and allowed me to experience the events as seen through the eyes of various people who were there and the effect it had on their lives. I was given a new perspective that personalized the familiar gospel story for me.<\/p>\n

I won’t reiterate what is so skillfully described in the book description above. I will recommend that you make it a point to get your own copy of The Centurion’s Wife<\/a> as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
