This second installment takes up a short time after the ending of the first and finds Kate Adams in the center of more mystery, danger, and romance.

I have found Kate’s character to be an intelligent and savvy female who often finds herself in unexpected situations that sometimes require help to get out of. I love the subtle hints of humor that pop up in just the right spots without detracting from the suspense at all. Events in “Blind Trust” lead to more than one mystery for Kate to solve. Could it be that they are all related or just coincidence? I also enjoyed getting to know more about Detective Tom Parker and was glad to see him involved once again in Kate’s life. Still hoping for a satisfying resolution to their relationship.

“Blind Trust” was quick and easy to read with a fast paced plot that carried a few surprises. My one and only complaint is that once again I was left hanging and eagerly waiting for the next installment. Such is the case with many of the series I love. I understand why some readers refuse to begin reading a series before the last book in it is available. I do recommend reading “Deadly Devotion” first to be sure to get all the back story. “Blind Trust” will be all the more enjoyable if you do so.

This book was provided for review by
Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Kate’s not sure how deep this deception goes–but she’ll do whatever it takes to find out.

Kate Adams had no idea she was carrying counterfeit money and can’t believe that it came from her sweet elderly neighbor. Or that it has landed her in the middle of another of Detective Tom Parker’s investigations. Determined to prove her neighbor’s innocence, Kate stumbles into a pit of intrigue far deeper than a two-bit counterfeit operation–and one that strikes too close to home for comfort.

As family secrets come to light, her world–and her budding romance with Tom–begin to crumble. To Kate, it’s clear that she won’t be safe until she uncovers all of Port Aster’s secrets.
