MY REVIEW:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first installment of the new Sisters of the Rockies by Misty M. Beller, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous<\/em> is the perfect appetizer that makes readers want more. Interesting characters, vivid imagery, and just the right touch of danger, action, and adventure helped keep the pages turning into the wee hours of the night. A rambunctious coyote pup, horse thieves, and mysterious blue beads added to the intrigue.<\/p>\n

After the death of their father, the four Collins sisters set out on a quest to fulfill his last wishes to return a necklace to the Indian woman who saved his life. When they arrived at the annual trappers rendezvous with the supply train, they realized they just might not be prepared. They had not expected the sheer number of trappers gathered in one place, men who had not seen white women in years. Fortunately one man among them, Riley Turner, had been raised to always protect women and he was impelled to protect these four innocents if at all possible. As he joined them in their quest to find the Indian woman they sought, he and Juniper Collins found themselves forming a strong bond. Too bad Juniper was committed to returning home with her sisters to build a horse ranch of their own.<\/p>\n

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous <\/em>was one of those books that could easily entice the reader to also travel to the mountains where one could breathe. I enjoyed the time I spent with the Collins sisters and Riley and look forward to future books in this series.<\/p>\n

What IS a trapper rendezvous? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous<\/em> is the story of four sisters who head west to accomplish their father\u2019s deathbed request\u2014return a special set of beads to a Blackfoot woman who saved his life during his travels west two decades earlier. The sisters head west with the supply wagons bound for the 1837 trapper rendezvous to find the native woman. But the sight that greeted them in the Green River Valley (in modern-day Wyoming) was nothing like they expected!<\/p>\n

Men EVERYWHERE!<\/p>\n

Supply wagons would come from the east every summer, and mountain men and natives would come from all throughout the Rockies to trade furs for the supplies they\u2019d need in the coming year. This was usually the only opportunity for trading each year, so EVERYONE came and the camp stretched for miles. This was a great time for friends to catch up, and the festivities always included a great deal of drinking and horse racing. The rendezvous was a sight to behold!<\/p>\n

In Rocky Mountain Rendezvous<\/em>, Riley Turner is one of the trappers at the meet-up, and he realizes immediately what kind of danger the ladies are in from unscrupulous men in the crowd. He helps them with their search, and they find so much more than they expected along the way!<\/p>\n

Each book in this series will take place during a different year, featuring a different rendezvous. Definitely fodder for fun stories. I pray you love this first book as the Collins sisters embark on the search of a lifetime. ?<\/p>\n
