MY REVIEW:
Scraps of Evidence has a fast-moving plot that follows a team of St. Augustine, Florida detectives as they work to solve the newest case in what appears to be a series of serial murders that began with Tess’s best friend in high school. As in all the books of the Quilts of Love series, quilts are a featured element in the story. Tess finds that quilting to be great stress relief from her demanding job as a police detective and spends hours at her Aunt Kathy’s quilt shop. Her new partner Logan finds Tess and her many talents to be a bit more attractive than might be appropriate for their job but they work well together and make a good team.
Scraps of Evidence is enjoyable with just the right amount of action, mystery, and romance. I recommend it as well as all the other books in the Quilts of Love series. I enjoyed following Logan and Tess through the streets of St. Augustine, a city I have always enjoyed visiting. Many seemingly insignificant incidents are eventually pieced together to create a comprehensive picture that is finally solved through clues in Aunt Kathy’s favorite quilt. I had my suspicions all along but the author kept me in the dark until the end.

When Kelly Frost accepts a job to restore a badly damaged quilt for Firstborn Holdings , she is surprised to find that she is required to live in the long vacant home of a New England whaling captain. While living there, Kelly discovers the journal penned by the original homeowner’s wife whose tragic story offers some unexpected information about the home and current families in New Bedford. As she works on the quilt, Kelly also gets to know Tom Pereira, the caretaker of Gray House whose gruff exterior hides a wounded but tender heart. Just as they seem to be growing close, details about Kelly’s past threaten to destroy their relationship.
Complete with a sweet romance, mysterious events, and even some terrifying and dangerous moments, “Tempest’s Course” takes the reader on a journey through its pages with several twists and surprises before it reaches its expected satisfying conclusion. While “Tempest’s Course” is a story about trust in God and the importance of family, reconciliation is also a major theme.
A welcome addition to the series, “Tempest’s Course” is well worth the time and effort to read.

MY REVIEW:
With the quilt she was wrapped in when abandoned on her adoptive parents’ doorstep the only clue, Laney Carrigan’s quest to find her birth family quickly leads her to Hawaii where she connects with a grandmother and great aunt. She grows to love her long lost relatives as well as the lady helping to care for her grandmother who is losing her battle against dementia. The only fly in the ointment is Kai Barnes, her adopted cousin. Their love/hate relationship is a source of stress for both Laney and Kai – primarily because of unresolved issues in their lives.
Aloha Rose is a beautifully written novel with wonderful characters who are so alive! The plot is filled with emotional ups and downs as well as quite a few twists and a couple of big surprises. As one of the books in the Quilts of Love series, it is a given that a quilt and/or quilting details would play a prominent role which quilt lovers should find interesting. Details about Hawaiian history. language, and lifestyle added to my enjoyment. A strong message of faith runs throughout the story and plays a major part in the lives of Laney and Kai as they struggle to overcome their fears.
I enjoyed Aloha Rose and would recommend it to those who love quilts as well as anyone who just enjoys a good contemporary love story.

I hold a BA and MA degree in English, and I am proud to be represented by Mary Sue Seymour, AAR. I have published over one hundred articles in Christian family magazines, and have received over two dozen awards from Romance Writers of America chapter groups. I am honored to be a member of Romance Writers of America, American Christian Fiction Writers, and Faith Hope and Love.
I live and teach in the Texas hill country with my husband, cats, and a rather large herd of deer. Our four children have flown the nest; however, we are fortunate that they all live close enough to visit.
I have always felt that my faith was at the very center of who and what I am, and I am thrilled beyond words to be able to now write about something that is so near to my heart. At various times I have served as a pianist, teacher, church secretary, and worship team member. While living in the Dallas area, I served as an adjunct professor of English Literature at Dallas Baptist University. When we moved to a small town in Central Texas, I continued teaching for a few years, but I now write full-time and I play the keyboard in our church’s praise band.
My grandfather was born in Albion, Pennsylvania, and I am currently researching whether I might have Amish roots.

MY REVIEW:
Although the primary focus of The Christmas Quilt is the young Amish couple Adam and Leah who are expecting their first children (twins), Adam’s sister Annie also has a major role in the story. Leah and Adam have experienced marital problems due to her pregnancy but premature labor forces Leah to spend an extended time in the hospital until the twins’ birth. As a trained nurse and close friend, Annie agrees to stay to help Leah through the difficult days ahead. To help pass the time, Annie and Leah work on the unfinished quilt Annie has started for Leah’s babies and decide to share a story featuring a fruit of the Spirit for each block.
To me, the stories that Annie and Leah shared were the pivotal portion of the book as they touched Leah’s heart and changed her attitude toward her husband. At the same time their enforced separation inspired Adam to spend more time seeking the Lord and reading his bible which also changed his attitude toward Leah.
The Christmas Quilt is Amish fiction but the truths it conveys applies to anyone who is a follower of Christ. A warm-hearted story with a timely message, The Christmas Quilt is the perfect book for the days that lead to the Christmas season.
