MY REVIEW:
“Vendetta” is a well-crafted novel filled with suspense, drama, action, and just a hint of romance. I hope to witness the progression of that particular romance as the series continues.
Realistic, three dimensional characters Nikki Boyd and her best friend’s widower Tyler worked well together as a team and had me rooting for them through the entire book. I liked how supportive and protective Tyler was toward Nikki yet he didn’t try to diminish her effectiveness in her job as an investigator for the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force. I also liked the depth of character development that gave me insight into what motivated Nikki and Tyler’s decisions.
The story moved along at a steady pace with ample twists and surprises along the way to hold my attention. The spiritual content was natural and did not overshadow the story line at all. I thoroughly enjoyed “Vendetta” and look forward to the next installment of the series soon.

MY REVIEW:
I always enjoy one of DiAnn Mills’ romantic suspense novels and “Deadlock” was no exception. I can be fairly certain that the author has done her research and any law enforcement details have been checked out and are as authentic as possible.
In “Deadlock” the new partnership of FBI Special Agents Bethany Sanchez and Thatcher Graves is put to the test time and again as they seem to work around the clock to solve the case of the Scorpion murders. Harassed by both her brother and the killer and distressed over her estrangement from her family, Bethany is stressed and not sure she can depend on Thatcher. Each of them is determined to fight against their mutual attraction and focus on solving their case before it is too late.
Bethany and Thatcher are both strong characters who carry the story. Several possibilities for the murderer are hinted at during the course of the tale but final revelations are somewhat surprising. I admired Thatcher’s determination to change his life based on his recent decision to follow Christ even though circumstances might justify falling back to his old patterns. The plot moves swiftly from one action-filled scene to the next and the suspense builds to a dramatic conclusion.
A gritty story that focuses on faith, family, and reconciliation, “Deadlock” kept me involved until the very end.

MY REVIEW:
Detective Kristen Conner is dedicated to her job and becomes extremely frustrated if prevented from doing it. For that reason she balks at mandatory visits to a therapist and is pretty unhappy that she is surrounded by protection after accidentally nearly stumbling upon an execution in Central Park while on vacation. A murder in her mother’s neighborhood is at the top of her list and she has no time to be worried about the Russian mafia.
“Cold As Ice” is a suspenseful book with plenty of action and danger as one would expect when dealing with cold-blooded killers such as the Russian mob. That scenario kept things moving right along while the closer-to-home murder provided more insight into the actual detecting process by the homicide department. A little romantic misunderstanding and family dynamics add a touch of realism to the story.
Overall, I enjoyed “Cold As Ice” but might have liked it better if there hadn’t been so many different points of view. At times it came very close to being quite confusing. Other than that, it was a pretty good read and I would most likely be interested in the next book in the series.

MY REVIEW:
“Gone Without a Trace” is the second book I’ve read recently that featured a female detective and a PI who she immediately disliked. Fortunately the plots were anything but similar and I enjoyed both books.
The perpetrator in “Gone Without a Trace” was one messed up guy and the reader is given glimpses into his mind at various points during the book. I found it impossible to settle on the guilty party because every time I thought I had it figured out, a little more information was given about another character that directed suspicion in his direction also. I thought the author was genius in misleading the reader and the conclusion is both surprising and horrifying.
“Gone Without a Trace” is an exciting read from the beginning to its end. I thought the characters were strong and realistic and the suspense was broken by a developing romance (of course). I loved the way one disappearance was resolved earlier in the story and how that character helped solve the other case.
I highly recommend “Gone Without a Trace” to anyone who enjoys a good romantic suspense.

MY REVIEW:
“Drawing Fire” is a high octane suspense that hits the ground running and keeps up a frantic pace throughout most of the book. Skillful plot twists and multiple surprises kept me in the dark but eager to learn more. Although the finale wrapped up most of the loose threads, it was bittersweet because I had reached the end.
Strong characters included “hot shot” PI Luke Murphy who was at first a thorn in detective Abby Hart’s side. Although Abby resented what she considered Luke’s interference in her case, she soon learned that they both had similar interests in solving it. As can be expected, the relationship between Abby and Luke develops into more than a working one.
I always enjoy a good romantic suspense and Janice Cantore is one of the best when it comes to writing one that will keep my interest. I suspect her law enforcement experience gives her that extra edge of authenticity. As long as she will keep these novels coming, I will read them!

MY REVIEW:
“Double Cross” is an apt title for the newest romantic suspense from DiAnn Mills. When the man FBI agent Laurel Evertson sent to prison agrees to help solve a current case, she is afraid to trust him. Both she and the Houston Police Officer helping with the case are just a bit wary that they could be victims of a double cross. As the story progresses, it becomes difficult to determine just who is double crossing whom.
Plenty of action, danger, faith, and romance fill out the plot of this exciting novel with realistic characters and setting. The lengths the scammers were willing to go and the way they targeted elderly victims suffering from dementia could easily be found in tomorrow’s front page news. In addition to primary characters Laurel and Daniel, I found Daniel’s grandmother Abby to be a major competitor for center of attention. What a brave and spunky woman who was not willing to give up easily.
I thoroughly enjoyed “Double Cross” and highly recommend it as well as any other novel by DiAnn Mills.
